Cat Feeding and Training
Feeding the cat with semi-moist food items are good for the growing kittens since they are protein rich and have adequate nutrients.
Dry food stuff contain about 10 percent of water content in them with less fat compared to the semi-moist food items. However, the protein content in dry food stuff is also comparatively low. It has been reported that the cats that are fed with dry food stuff acquire problems in the bladder. To deal with such a situation, the cats could be exposed to a variety of food items such as tinned food and addition of milk to the food items. The advantage of the dry food stuff is to clean the tooth of the cat and prevent them from getting fatter.
It is important to have in mind that the kittens and the pregnant cats should be fed at least twice a day. The cat should not be given a dog’s diet because the cereal content in the dog’s diet is large and lacks in essential vitamins.
Apartment cats differ from the cats in the rural areas in terms of amount of exercise it does. The cats in the rural areas are left free on the roads as there is hardly a possibility of an accident where some vehicle hits the cat. Such chances are bright in their counterparts and hence these cats should be trained to exercise by letting them play regularly with the toys.
Providing the cat with a scratch post lets them sharpen the claws and remove dry skin. Training the cats to use the toilet is also an important task and it could be instilled easily in the cats when compared to the dogs.
Further, cats could be trained to obey the basic commands of being seated, running, jumping and some other tricks. But instilling these skills to the cat requires a lot of patience.
