Cat Training – Holiday Training
The cats being trained for the holidays are an important task. You must train them so as to not having the important items getting damaged by the cat.
The most obvious way to deal with this situation is to get your cats a lot of toys with which it would play. If you wish to keep the cat away from the decorations of your home, get it some things that sparkle and flash lights.
To make the cat more interested in the toys that you have purchased, you can play with those toys having your cat beside. When the cats start liking the toys that you give them, you can easily teach them not to touch any important things by speaking with a stern voice and directing them to the toys.
Clicker training could also be employed where the cat stops messing with the important items when you click. You must not forget to buy some presents for the cat when you are back from the holidays since they too expect such presents. A soft pillow, catnip or a silky blanket are some ideas of presents. Other commonly given presents include scratching post and a new leash. You must make sure that the decorations of the tree are out of the cat’s reach.
You must make sure that the items on the fireplace mantel are at the right place so that the cat cannot access them even if it is a good climber. To keep the cats away from the holiday tree, large netting bows could be made in the bottom. This netting also proves useful in the case where the cats do not want their paws and nails to be caught in loose fabric
Wherever you travel during the holidays, do not forget that the dearest friend of yours is left alone at home and forget not to buy some presents for it.
