Types of Cats

Cats are of different kinds out of which some are easily trainable and some are not. They differ from each other in their general characteristics and their rate of training.

Types of Cats suitable for training

Persians are a familiar type of cat, which are available in wide varieties of shades and models. They are domestic, attaches well with humans and are easily trainable. Since they have long hairs, regular grooming is necessary for maintaining their luster.

Another breed of the cat which has long hair is Barman. They have the similar characteristics of Persians but are more intelligent than they are.

Wild cats are also used for training. American Bobtail, unlike domestic cats, is very large in size and appears to be wild. Another wild cat is Bengal, which is energetic and acts smart with humans.

Playful cats are difficult to train but they are very active and aware. Some cats of this kind are Siamese, Somali and Snowshoe. These types of cats hate loneliness and are very sensitive.

Ocicat, though have an unpleasant look, are very attached to the humans and friendly. They adjust to the entire environment and form the best companions to their masters.

Some of the cats like Selkirk Rex, Rag doll and Exotic are very mild and calm. However, people do not prefer Selkirk Rex because its coat detaches very often. Rag doll is the mildest of all and has a very long fur.

Sphinx contains less fur than other cats. They are very affectionate to humans and alert.

Choosing the suitable breed from all the cats should be done very carefully as it is going to be one of the members of the family. Internet and various books about cats give general ideas about the cats but visiting a humane society is a better idea. The most important thing is the cats should adjust with the family and when it comes otherwise, it leads to commotion.
